Hi, I'm Mr. Max
I teach rhythm and singing to elementary school classes, and drumming to kids who want to play.
Based in Benicia, I visit classrooms and work with young drummers across the North Bay, East Bay and South Bay. With my more advanced students I dig into hand drums from around the world: the Irish bodhrán, the Peruvian cajón and the dumbek from the Middle East and North Africa.
Every group and every student is different, so I don't use one lesson plan for everybody. I design each plan to match the skill level of the students in front of me, so beginners get early wins and experienced players keep growing.
