What students do
Every class is active and hands-on. Students learn by listening, moving, singing and playing, not by sitting still.
- Find and keep a steady beat as a group
- Clap, tap and stomp body-percussion patterns
- Sing songs, rounds and call-and-response
- Echo and invent short rhythms
- Play classroom percussion together
- Listen closely and take turns as musicians
Why rhythm belongs in the classroom
Listening
Rhythm games build focused listening that carries over to every subject.
Teamwork
Keeping a beat together means paying attention to everyone in the room.
Confidence
Singing and playing in a group gives every student a safe way to shine.
Patterns & counting
Rhythms are patterns kids can hear, count and feel in their bodies.
Planned for your class
Before visiting, Mr. Max talks with the teacher about the grade level, the group and any goals, then designs a lesson plan to fit.
A kindergarten class and a fifth-grade class need very different lessons. Activities, songs and pacing are matched to what your students are ready for, and build from visit to visit.
Single visits
A one-time rhythm and singing session for a class, a grade level, or a special event.
Recurring classes
Weekly or regular sessions where students build skills over the semester or school year.
Who to talk to
Teachers, principals, PTA and PTO groups, and after-school programs are all welcome to get in touch to plan a visit.
